Is your
logo design practical?
Can it be printed on different sizes without being blurry? Will it work
in black and white format as well as in color? Some
logo designs become really bad when reproduced in your
advertisement in newspaper or when sent through a fax machine as a fax
designed fax cover. Try changing the logo size from big to small
to check how it looks in different sizes. Blowing it up and reducing the
logo to determine its readability at different sizes.
Has your logo designer created a distinctive logo for your
business?
A
logo design needs to be unique and effective keep in mind that
simplicity is key to a good logo. A design idea should not be unique to
the world, just distinctive enough so you can market your target
audience.
Is it graphic?
When few people see your logo and asks you what does your logo mean you
can simply understand that there is something wrong with your logo
design concept. You shouldn't have to explain to people what message you
are portraying in your

An effective
business logo design will be self explanatory to communicate
purely in graphic terms to the right brain portion and doesn't depend on

Simplicity of a design makes a logo easier for customers to remember

business logo design will contain only one graphic idea and the
viewer will understand the concept behind in fraction of a second. So if
you plan to use a special symbol for your company it should be
accompanied with a clear company name. If it is a word mark, one idea or
device should make it special -- like the stripes in IBM company logo .
The more unique the name,the simpler the graphic design can be. Think
crystal clear contrast and simple shapes, with limited colors and
combinations.
Does it convey once uniform message?
Great
business logo designs try to express no more than one attribute
in it and support a single aspect of positioning.
Get different opinions from your colleagues and from people in your
target market instead of merely relying on your own taste and
intuitions. Also, use this checklist to avoid common problems with
logos:
Is your design too trendy?
Think of the future and avoid being too trendy. A good logo may last in
your customers mind for years and give your customers a chance to burn
the image of your logo into their brains.
does your logo design uses words or letters, are these words
recognizable?
Your logo should speak by itself you should not be the one to explain it
to people.
Does your logo arouse any un-wanted associations?
What you intended as stepping stones might be understood as looking
like animal droppings. If you get this kind of response , you need to
pay attention.
Are the colors in your
logo design
appropriate?
Colors are very powerful. Different colors have different meanings and
associations and can have predictable effects on your audience.
Understanding color associations is imperative!
Do you and others in your company like the logo enough to use it
enthusiastically?
